Convictions #6 and #7
We gather regularly to worship, to celebrate the Lord’s Supper, and to hear the Word of God in a spirit of mutual accountability.
As a world-wide community of faith and life we transcend boundaries of nationality, race, class, gender and language. We seek to live in the world without conforming to the powers of evil, witnessing to God’s grace by serving others, caring for creation, and inviting all people to know Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord.
What is most important for you to worship ? In the conviction it only says to celebrate the Lord’s Supper and hear the Word of God. We also sing, pray and have fellowship together. We collect offerings during worship as well. Worship is the most collective thing that we do at church. This, I think, is what has made the pandemic so difficult. For me, Zoom has not replaced it. Even though. I am an introvert, I have missed congregational worship.
The final conviction is an enormous task. We must keep on about fighting evil, living God’s grace, caring for the earth and inviting people into a relationship with Jesus. And in the afternoon, we will….continue to live into the generous arms of the Almighty and Everlasting One.
AMEN.
