Replenish

Good afternoon,

Last week :

On Tuesday, I delivered a prayer shawl from the church to young parents

.On Saturday, I led a wedding service for a couple who got married in an airport hangar.

On Sunday, I spoke at the annual tree planting service hosted by Brenneman Funeral Home in Atwood.

Each ceremony was important in the life of the people that were part of it, and for me as the minister participating. They were all emotional in their own way. There was gratitude. There was thankfulness. There was love. There were tears. There was silence.

They are all part of what we call… life. As a young widow told me many years ago, ” When my husband died so early, I learned that death is part of life .” She had learned wisdom beyond her years. At the tree planting ceremony over two hundred people came forward to throw handfuls of dirt into the hole around the tree. Emotions were flowing through the dirt into their memories.

Jesus had many busy days. He healed many people in a day. He taught thousands on a hillside and fed 4000 and 5000 thousand in the late afternoon. He also met with people one on one. Ministry takes a physical, emotional and spiritual toll. I need to go back to God to replenish what I need to replenish. What do you need to take care of yourself ?

It was very early in the morning and still dark. Jesus got up and left the house. He went to a place where he could be alone.
 Mark 1:35

Shalom and strength for our journey together.
