The Fourth Sunday of Advent

December 20, 2020
Good morning,

Check out the Sunday School program on the Poole Mennonite website. This is the Fourth Sunday of Advent. It has been a slow journey to the place where the baby is going to be born. Advent is like a Shakespearean play. For most of us, we know the ending, but the experience at Stratford is always new and exciting. The actors are not the same, and the costumes are different. And the backdrops are changing all the time. It is like an old story , and seeing it for the first time, once again.

This year, 2020, what have you seen in the new Christmas scene ?  I have chosen to focus on the second Wise Man, known as Gaspar. Maybe you see a different face in Mary, or a stronger Joseph. Or maybe it is possible that you have focused on the city of the Magi or Jerusalem or Bethlehem. May God’s Spirit bring you into new faith , as you read, listen or act out the story this year.

May the Lord bless you and keep you, where you find yourself this morning. May the Lord keep you safe, and be well. May your home be a sacred meeting place of worship and prayer this morning. AMEN.
