TO THE ANGEL AT POOLE

May 21, 2021

Good afternoon To the angel  ( messenger )    of the church in Ephesus, … Smyrna, … Pergamum,… Thyatira, … Sardis,… Philadelphia and Laodicea  – from Revelation 2 and 3

The angels or the messengers can be seen as the Spirit. The writer of this vision seems to know the churches well. He points out their good qualities , as well as the things that they do wrong. Any of the definitions given to the churches here, could be made for Poole or any other church. Sometimes we act according to God’s will, while at other times we sin without compassion and love.

Pentecost comes on Sunday. It signifies that Jesus did not leave the disciples alone. The pandemic has made many people feel alone. We feel numb. We feel lethargic. Over 16 months, and we still do not see a normal life yet. We have had to endure a different world. We celebrate when we can put a needle in our arms. Life turns around with a vaccine shot. Strange but true. We hope that the Spirit comes again, in a new way, this Pentecost. We are going to put helmets on just in case there is huge wind and a flash fire again ( See Acts 2).

Describe the Spirit ? How have you had your own personal Pentecost ? Where is the Spirit of the Living God living among us today ? Do we have to slow down, so that we can see the Spirit moving, or can we see the Spirit as we move at a breakneck speed ?

Grace and peace in our life in the Spirit

Fred
