Worship the Lord With Gladness

         September 6, 2020

Good morning,

( Please pray for Arthur Poole as he recovers from minor back surgery )

May God, the Holy and Everlasting One, be close to you today. I hope you meet God as you worship today. May the songs, the readings, and the prayers allow you to feel comfort in the arms of God. May your prayers to the Creator, Sustainer and Redeemer bring you closer to The Rock of our faith.

” You have made them a little lower than the angels
and crowned them with glory and honor.
You made them rulers over the works of your hands. ”        Psalm 8:5-6

This Psalm begins with the majesty of God. It describes the awesomeness of God in our world, and in our lives. God is beyond description and beyond all of our words put together. The writer describes the nature of God through a vision of heaven. The poetry of the King James Version of the Old Testament brings us in touch, oh so slightly, with the vastness of the Lord of Heaven and Earth. And remember the universe is still expanding !

And, yet, in verse in 5-6 , we are given description as the people of this world. We are only slightly lower than the angels. We are almost heavenly beings, and we are in charge of parts of the creation. What a great honour and great responsibility that we have. We are co-creators with God, and we’re doing the same things as the hands of God. Everything is under our feet, but not as dictators, but as caregivers. What a great connection to God !

Prayer
We invite you into our lives today,
Come Lord Jesus.

We invite you to speak to us today,
Come Lord Jesus.
We invite you to put your arms around us,
Come Lord Jesus.
We invite you to Rock our World,
Come Lord Jesus. Come Quickly.      AMEN
